The Taipei Philharmonic Youth and Children’s Choir earned the highest overall score in the children’s category at the 63rd Seghizzi International Choral Singing Competition in Italy.

The choir recently completed a six-country European tour, including stops in France and Italy. The troupe first participated in the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, where it performed alongside ensembles from more than 10 countries, including Germany, Poland, Latvia, and Ukraine, before competing in the prestigious Seghizzi event.

During the tour, the choir visited the Taipei Representative Office in Milan, where Director General Riccardo Lin (林讚南) hosted the group with Taiwanese dishes. The students also performed Taiwanese folk songs, including “Longing for the Spring Breeze," showcasing Taiwan’s cultural heritage to overseas audiences and receiving enthusiastic applause.

Following its success, the choir launched auditions for new members aged 7 to 18, with sessions scheduled for mid-August, aiming to attract young singers to continue representing Taiwan on the global stage.
