In recent years, the urban development prospects of elevated railways and the MRT Green Line in the southern district of Taichung City have driven the construction of collective housing in this area, attracting a large number of people to move in, and the number of school children has also increased year by year. The supply of school buildings in various schools in the Southern District has long been saturated. In the face of future growth in the number of school students and the protection of children's rights to education, the establishment of new schools is a top priority.
Shu-De Primary School is located in Shudeli, Southern District (the old place name is "Shu Tsai Jiao"). It was originally the district of Heping Elementary School. For many years, there were only simple courts on the school grounds to provide citizens with sports space. The local people are eagerly looking forward to the establishment of the school. After decades of hard work by local gentry and public opinion representatives, the groundbreaking ceremony was finally held at the end of February 2021, and the first class of students will be recruited in 2022.

The overall plan of the German small campus is established, which is divided into three phases to be implemented year by year. The building is conceived around the "image of a big tree", using the stretching posture of the branches as a self-explanatory vocabulary for the facade shape, creating a campus memory point full of streamlines and interest. The first phase of the school building is a five-story building. In order to overcome the problem that students on high floors cannot easily go downstairs to get close to the campus green space after class, the design of "livable buildings", "vertical greening" and "multi-level terraces" was used in the planning The concept allows students on all floors to have more space to get close to greenery and trees. The school building is like a three-dimensional sky garden. The architect’s creativity and ingenuity also won recognition from the “2022 National Excellence in Construction Awards” Gold Award in the Best Planning and Design Category.
