Dating back to the recession of Taiwan, some people in the township who had lofty ideals and did care about local construction, especially in the development of education made efforts to organize a committee which used an elementary school as the temporary building. Right after the teachers were recruited and the facilities were prepared, 110 students got enrolled. With the opening ceremony on October 26th, 1946, HsinPu Junior High School began its existence.
Mr. Junlou Chen, who had lived in Japan, was urged to be the first principal. With the assistance of local gentry and the careful planning of Principal Chen, construction of 12 new classrooms was accomplished in 2 years. For the next 25 years, Principal Chen kept his hard work on all kinds of school development, including more building construction, continuous increase of student number, and even establishment of branches, Guanhsi Branch in 1955 and Chubei Branch in 1957. Until 1968, the school had 40 classes with over 2000 students and nearly 100 teachers and employees. Since the retirement of Principal Chen in 1973, 11 principals have continually led the school whole-heartedly, carrying out different policies to benefit students the most.
In 1973, Mr. Weiyue Xie took over as the principal. Principal Xie encouraged teachers in further teaching method diligence and made the school an advocacy center in the county for its sanitary.
In 1983, Mr. Bingzhao Fan took over as the principal. Principal Fan was honored as the national best personnel, and got summoned by the president. He set an example and led the school with a down-to-earth spirit, which enabled the development of all aspects to be improved and the school administration prospered.
In 1988, Mr. Nanrung Xie took over as the principal. Under the leadership of Principal Xie, who was earnest and enthusiastic about education, all the teachers, staff and students performed amazingly. On Dec.1, 1990, it was the greatest honor for school that President Li visited personally with the accompany of the County Mayor. In 1973, the school girls’ tennis team got the champion in the National Middle School Athletic Game and had a friendly match in Hawaii.
In 1995, Mr. Huinan Zhan took over as the principal. Principal Zhan, who was active in reinforcing students’ leaning both in and out of the classrooms, had success in all aspects of performance. In his term, Men’s team table tennis continued to win three consecutive championships and three of the players were selected national champions.
In 2001, Mr. Reybao Huang took over as the principal. Principal Huang popularized sports games with all his heart. With his full support, the table tennis players, in disciplines of singles, doubles and mixed-doubles, made great success not only in the domestic games but also around the world.
In 2005, Mr. Nengsan Chen took over as the principal. Principal rigorously and conscientiously led the school by example and worked hard for students’ balanced development, life education and campus embellishing. The school table tennis team got a large quantity of awards in domestic games.
In 2008, Ms. Mining Chang took over as the principal. Principal Chang affirmed that every student could learn and that every student could be educated. She put more emphasis on humanities and established the Chinese music club and the harmonica club to provide the students a chance to shine on the basis of his talent in order to achieve the educational goal of whole-person development.
In 2012, Ms. Minjing Chuang took over as the principal. Principal Chuang, upholding the ideal of student-centered policies, advocated reading by founding Love Library, encouraged fitness by rebuilding the basketball court and offered a stage by setting up multiple clubs. With her efforts, the school was awarded the international certification of InnoSchool-KDP for its innovation and development in multi-intelligence.
In 2016, Mr. Bingrei Wu took over as the principal. Principal Wu, as a novice principal, humbly and sincerely strove for the best school state with the administration team. He focused on bringing up students’ life-long learning abilities –how to develop themselves, how to learn, how to do things, how to be with others, and how to change. Students, with the help of the school counseling, would be able to attend a senior high school right for themselves on the basis of their individual talent.
In 2020, Ms. Meihuei Ho took over as the principal. Principal Ho develops school-based curriculum about the concerns on local environment, ecological conservation, community engagement with a view to expanding students’ learning possibilities of caring more about their hometown and extending their vision to the world.
Now we are in our 75th year, we expect not only our graduates but also our students to follow the spirit of the tradition for being simple and that of the innovation for being creative.
