New Taipei Municipal Banqiao Junior High School (BQJH) was founded in August,1965. It was set up as a branch of “Shulin Middle School, Taipei County”
to meet the the surge in school children and in accordance with the instructions of the Provincial Department of Education. At that time, the Taipei County Government used the site of the original Zhongzheng National School (previously closed due to the typhoon) to start classes and assigned Mr. Zheng Pei as the branch director to enroll seven classes. Afterwards, Principal Zheng Pei served as the preparatory director of the new school. In June 1966, it was approved by the provincial order to become "Taipei County Banqiao Junior High School", and it continued to recruit eight new classes. As of May 2023, the number of classes is 43.

1. School motto-Knowledge, Courtesy, Honesty, Diligence and Perseverance
The Chinese character "橋" in the school name means "bridge". The school's vision and motto are built on this strong and sustainable bridge image, which is the foundational spirit of Banqiao Junior High School's curriculum blueprint. With this fundamental concept, the curriculum development can be passed on permanently to accomplish the educational goal of cultivating talents.
2. Eight core competencies-Being polite, Being disciplined, Being able to get along with others, Loving the school, Caring for the hometown, Being able to read, Loving to exercise, and Learning skills
The eight core competencies constitute a great circle, which represents the ultimate goal of curriculum development is to cultivate students' diverse abilities and qualities to achieve a complete learning journey.
3. School badge-Innovation and Practice
The thriving leaves in the picture represent the core values of innovation and practice, as well as the hope and enthusiasm that sprout from the bridge. The school is expected to develop a school-based curriculum that integrates the pulse of the times and to nurture good citizens who will face the changes of the times and grasp the pulse of the future.
