Our school was established on April 1, 1925 (the 14th year of Taisho), when it was the Chimi Branch of Ruisui Public School, and the academic system was 2 years. On April 1st, 1926 (the first year of the Showa era), it was officially established as "Qimi Fanren Public School" and the academic system was changed to 4 years. On December 1st of the same year, a new building of the school's Bing dormitory was completed. On November 15, 1930, the new school building was completed. On October 1, 1937 (Showa 16), the name of the school was changed to "Chimei Fanren Public School" and the academic system was extended to 6 years. On April 1, 1941, the school changed its name three times to "Chimei Minority School". In 1942, a new school building and a dormitory building were completed successively.
After the war, the school was renamed "Hualien County Chimei Minority School". In September 1948 (the 37th year of the Republic of China), the school was hit by a strong typhoon, and most of the school buildings were blown down. From 1950 to 1956 (the 39th to 45th year of the Republic of China), all repairs or new construction were replaced by reinforced concrete. Due to the reduction of damage, the school had the spare capacity to engage in software construction to meet the needs of teaching. In 1968 (the 57th year of the Republic of China), the nine-year national compulsory education was implemented nationwide, and the name of the school was immediately changed to "Chimei Primary School, Ruisui Township, Hualien County". From 1976 to 1978 (65th to 67th year of the Republic of China), the school built two reinforced concrete two-floor classroom buildings, which were temporarily used to accommodate students of the whole school. At the same time, the government allocated special funds to rebuild the dormitory for the principal and teachers. In 1979 (the 68th year of the Republic of China), the school updated the desks and chairs of the classrooms, and all the desks and chairs of the teachers were also updated.
In November 1989 (78 years of the Republic of China), the school was restructured into the Chimei Branch School of Hegang Elementary School, Ruisui Township, Hualien County, due to the shortage of students because of the migration of the population in the Chimei School District. However, at the request of the villagers, on August 1, 1992 (the 1981 year of the Republic of China), the school was established independently again, and the name was restored to Chimei Minority Primary School, Ruisui Township, Hualien County.
