Xinshi Elementary School was established in 2008 and officially opened its door in 2013 with an enrollment of students. It was the first elementary school established in response to the population growth in Tamsui New Town. Over the past ten years, each class has been consistently full, and the school's educational efforts have been highly valued and acknowledged by the parents.
Xinshi Elementary School is also one of the top five schools for the development of bilingual experimental curriculum. From 2014 to 2018, Xinshi Elementary School participated in the Tamsui International Education Project and became one of the promoting schools in Tamsui District. Xinshi has been committed and dedicated to cultivating bilingual programs and making continuous efforts to achieve our mission toward globalization.
Xinshi Elementary School is designed with an emphasis on environmental sustainability, where all the infrasturctures are built with the concept of green building. In 2014, it was honored with the Diamond-level Green Building Certification by the Ministry of the Interior. Then in 2015, it received the Low Carbon Emissions Campus Certification in Golden Bear-level. From 2016 to 2017, it was selected as a model school of Green Building. Xinshi has taken on the responsibility of environmental sustainability and global citizenship. Furthermore, we’ve been continously strengthening our curriculum to meet our objectives and goals. In 2019, we even joined the US-Taiwan Eco-Campus Partnership.
For a decade, Xinshi Elementary School has developed steadily. We are aiming to cultivate students for the new generation and contribute to a better future in Tamsui.

Xinshi Elementary School utilizes every school facility to create a unique school-based curriculum. With five core values, humanity, art, health, sustainability, and creativity. Our aim is to foster lifelong learners with a good character, a taste of art, green literacy, and determination to excel. By integrating local context to our competency-based teaching, we encourage children to strive for excellence and personalized learning, and to equipped to face the ever-changing world.
1. Digital Campus
To keep up with the trend of digital technology in education, Xinshi has established a smart learning environment. We utilize mobile devices to foster an inquiry-based mindset and promote self-directed learning.
2. Sustainable Citizens
Through various activities and projects, students are guided to explore the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and instill a sense of responsibility towards protecting the environment and caring for society.
3. Food and Agriculture Education
Agricultural experiences and cooking lessons allow students to appreciate seasonal food. By implementing these activities, the school promotes the good decision-making of proper management of the environment and food.
4. Bilingual Learing
The interdisciplinary curriculum promotes a sphere of multicultural and global competences. Through this medium, the school cultivates an appreciation of studnets’ culture, as well as the learning attitude toward appreciating and respecting diversity.
5. A Chance to Shine
We offer extra-curricular activities through school clubs and school teams such as music, art, and sports. It provides students different opportunities to shine and showcase their talents.
