School Legacy
Our school was founded in 1955. Under the guidance and management of various principals, the hard work of teachers, and the support from parents, the school has grown over time and the number of classes is still steadily growing today, despite the ageing society we’re in. Our motto is “Diligence, Modesty, Honesty, and Truth”, which informs our school culture and has nurtured many outstanding talents.
Origin of School Name
Our school is located between Hutou Mountain and Nankan River. In times past, the river could only be crossed by wading across it. This is why this place came to be known as Kuaiji (which sounds similar to “guoxi” [crossing river] in Taiwanese). Nowadays a beautiful bridge connects both banks, and the students no longer need to brave the chilly, tricky waters. Commuting between school and home is very safe now.
School Buildings
Our classroom buildings are called Tianzhen Building, Kuaile Building, Huopo Building, Chengshi Building, and Administration Building. The school offers ample space for learning, teaching, and working. Student activity spaces include sports grounds and a student activity center. The kitchen prepares nutritious and healthy lunches.
School Facilities
Our comprehensive campus facilities comprise a green front lawn, an ecological pond with a rich biodiversity, safe and diverse playground equipment, a running track, and sports fields where students can take a break from their intense studies and let go and relax. Healthy minds and healthy bodies go together.

Reading Education
Reading is the bedrock of all other learning. Improving children’s reading skill can improve their overall learning skills. Therefore, we have a rigorous reading promotion and education program for which we have earned certification as a Reading Merit School by the Taoyuan City Government. Our rich reading activities include a school-made daily digest, silent communal reading, The Principal Talks Books event, and newspaper reading organized by grade, to strengthen students’ reading skills and knowledge.
Health Promotion School
Only with a healthy body and ditto mind can we study well. This is why we offer a range of physical and mental health activities which benefit studies, such as health check-ups, environmental sanitation and upkeep, safe medicine usage information, correct dental care habits, aerobics competitions, fitness activities, and more. We typically score high or maximum marks in municipal assessments in its Health Promotion School system.
Developing Distinctive Courses
Our school sits close to the former Taoyuan-Linkou Railway and Nankan River, each with a historical legacy worth exploring. This is why our school has done research on these topics and has developed courses and activities about these surroundings in order to cultivate in the students a knowledge of and love for their local community. A special course titled “A River, a Railroad - A Tale of Two Cities Each on a Side of the River” teaches the students about their local history and places it in a wider, global context.
Contentment and Gratitude
Only those with a capacity for gratitude may understand happiness in life. Each Christmas, Teacher's Day, Mother's Day, and other festivals, our school will hold gratitude events to cultivate a sense of gratitude and contentment in our students. In addition, during Grandparents and Grandchildren Week, our students' grandparents are invited to the school, an occasion which gives the students the opportunity to express their love in concrete ways (such as through neck massages).
