International Education Exchange Alliance for Primary and Secondary Schools – Overview of the 113th Academic Year Plan

In response to the trends of educational globalization and in alignment with the Ministry of Education’s “Mid-Term Development Plan for International Education in Primary and Secondary Schools,” the International Education Exchange Alliance for Primary and Secondary Schools is dedicated to fostering international education exchanges. With the vision of “Connecting to the World, Linking Globally,” the Alliance aims to enhance students’ multicultural understanding and international competencies. The core focus for the 113th academic year is advancing international education exchanges, promoting cross-border school collaborations, and strengthening support mechanisms to firmly root international education in primary and secondary schools.

Key Initiatives

  1. Cross-Border School Collaboration and Pairing

    • Successfully facilitated numerous international exchange cases, covering both virtual and in-person formats, fostering deep collaboration between domestic and international schools.

    • Organized receptions for visiting foreign schools and arranged overseas trips for Taiwanese students and teachers, deepening cultural interactions and educational exchanges.

  2. Support and Financial Assistance

    • Provided consultation and review services for applications for financial assistance for international exchanges, encouraging more schools to participate in international education programs.

    • Developed international exchange toolkits to enhance the convenience and efficiency of schools promoting international education.

  3. Promotion and Resource Integration

    • Compiled press releases and visit handbooks from various liaison offices to showcase regional exchange highlights and promote the unique strengths of Taiwanese education.

    • Collaborated with overseas offices to expand the influence of international education and attract more opportunities for partnerships.

Expected Outcomes

  • Deepening International Collaboration: Establish long-term, stable partnerships through mutual visits and exchanges between domestic and international schools, promoting educational interactions between Taiwan and other countries.

  • Enhancing Students’ International Competencies: Integrate SDG-related themes into diverse activities, enabling students to develop a broader international perspective and global citizenship through cross-cultural interactions.

  • Showcasing Taiwan’s Educational Strengths: Highlight Taiwan’s innovations in education and cultural exchange through cultural experiences and school-pairing activities, increasing international visibility.

  • Strengthening International Education Support Mechanisms: Through systematic planning and resource integration, provide schools with a more comprehensive platform for international education, facilitating the globalization of primary and secondary education nationwide.

The Alliance will continue to promote the implementation of international education programs with innovation and pragmatism, nurturing more globally competitive students and professional educators, and serving as a model for international education cooperation.
