Gongguan Junior High School, serving as the International Education Center of Miaoli County, has been implementing the School Internationalization Project since the 2020 academic year. The school has advanced through pilot, intermediate, and advanced development stages and was recognized with the Ministry of Education's Golden Award for Teaching Excellence in 2023. Centered on "International Education," the school has developed four major curricular axes: "Flying English in Gongguan," " Love Reading in Gongguan" "Interdisciplinary Literacy Reading," and "Civic Practice," all dedicated to realizing its educational philosophy of "Global Vision, Local Practice."
In terms of concrete achievements, the school has successfully implemented several innovative programs: organizing school-wide International Week activities; establishing international exchange with sister school in Singapore, leading 30 students on an educational tour; developing its own "Interdisciplinary Literacy Reading" materials, which has accumulated 23 volumes, effectively combining international and bilingual education; and implementing monthly themed "Civic Practice" activities to engage students with international issues and encourage practical application in daily life. Through actively promoting various international education programs in recent years, Gongguan Junior High School has cultivated students' global perspective and local practice capabilities, nurturing them to become civic practitioners with the courage and passion to improve society.
